Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Relay Testing Technician to join our team at Intelletec Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine and special testing of protective relays and associated equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relay Testing: Conduct thorough testing of protective relays and associated equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with relay systems, including malfunctioning devices and communication failures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and calibration of relay testing equipment and tools.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of testing results, maintenance activities, and equipment conditions. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory compliance.
  • Installation Support: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new relay systems and upgrades in substations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, operations staff, and other technicians to ensure effective and safe relay operations.
  • Training: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and staff on relay testing procedures and safety protocols.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in relay testing and maintenance in a substation or power systems environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using relay test equipment and software; strong understanding of electrical principles, relay logic, and power systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document findings.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
