Job Summary

The General Maintenance Engineer II is a key member of our team at The Little Nell, responsible for performing basic building maintenance projects. This role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic building maintenance tasks, including repairs, small furniture repairs, and painting touch-ups.
  • Work with minimal supervision to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Maintain a polite and courteous attitude towards hotel guests.
  • Ensure clear and uncluttered work areas.
  • Respond to and attend to guest repair requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, and electrical components.
  • Display basic computer skills.
  • Report guest comments and complaints to management.
  • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for the Engineering Department.
  • Familiarize yourself with hotel fire and safety procedures and assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
  • Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as needed.
