Job Title: General Maintenance Engineer I or II

The Little Nell, a luxury hotel in Aspen, Colorado, is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Engineer I or II to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for performing basic building maintenance projects, including repairs, small furniture repairs, painting touch-ups, and other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic building maintenance, including repairs, small furniture repairs, painting touch-ups, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Work with minimal supervision and maintain a polite and courteous attitude toward hotel guests.
  • Maintain clear and uncluttered work areas and respond to guest repair requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with guests and other departments to resolve maintenance issues and identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for the building.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
  • Display basic computer skills and make manager aware of guest comments and complaints.
  • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and comply with all policies and procedures for the Engineering Department, The Little Nell, and Aspen Skiing Company.
  • Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
Requirements:
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and the proper employment of such tools.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. individually or with assistance.
