Nursing Professional Development Consultant

The Nursing Professional Development Consultant is a registered nurse with expertise in nursing education who influences professional role competence and professional growth of nurses in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and assess training programs for staff to ensure clinical competence.
  • Create effective programs based on best practices and adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with nursing leaders on orientation and competency programs to support quality patient care.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and lead change initiatives.
  • Stay informed about regulatory standards and change management to ensure compliance.
  • Offer guidance and connect individuals with resources to support their professional growth.
  • Maintain clinical expertise through self-evaluation and stay informed about research to incorporate findings into activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of education experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a specialty.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Basic Life Support within one month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership/management experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of education experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Masters in nursing with a focus on clinical specialty.
  • Certification in specialty practice (Nursing Professional Development and/or clinical specialty).
