Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Long-Term Speech and Language Pathologist Substitute to join our team at Essex Westford School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students with developmental delays, autism, and other disabilities in an inclusive small group and 1:1 setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directing services and instruction development to students with developmental delays, autism, and other disabilities
  • Evaluating speech and language for students with developmental delays, autism, and other disabilities
  • Case management of cases aligned with a Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Providing speech and language therapy services to students in an inclusive small group and 1:1 setting
Requirements
  • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT Educator license with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency-Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged youth is strongly desired
  • Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and support the various learning styles of students
  • Ability to effectively engage students at the elementary school level
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the student population being served and how demographic variables impact student achievement, and effectively use this knowledge to design and deliver instruction
