Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer for Flight Testing plays a crucial role within the Boeing Future of Flight team, focusing on the integration of manufacturing processes and methodologies tailored for flight test operations.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to deliver cohesive technical solutions across various engineering disciplines.
  • Design and document processes and tools for manufacturing engineering specific to flight test programs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing plans, including Bills of Materials and work instructions to accurately reflect as-built configurations.
  • Formulate manufacturing strategies that align with business objectives and operational goals.
  • Conduct build analyses and prepare cost estimation reports to inform project planning.
  • Oversee the integration of complex suppliers and materials to fulfill manufacturing and delivery requirements.
  • Lead assessments of design concepts to ensure producibility and efficiency.
  • Manage project work statements to align with budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Engineering and procurement teams to facilitate effective project execution.
  • Draft and revise operational processes to meet evolving business needs.
  • Work autonomously while providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Management to define flight test integration requirements.
  • Develop training materials and resources for the Manufacturing Engineering team.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
Applicants should possess:

  • A degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project leadership or team management.
  • 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in laboratory testing, flight testing, or related environments.
  • Familiarity with both commercial and military aerospace customers.
  • Previous experience with Boeing's Manufacturing Engineering processes in flight test scenarios.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices across various engineering fields.
  • Experience with systems such as PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, and GOLDesp.
