POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Nursing Supervisor will oversee and ensure that the caseloads and schedules of Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) are effectively managed. This role collaborates with the Program Manager and other team leaders to guarantee that LVNs receive the necessary training and support for their roles. Additionally, the position is responsible for a comprehensive range of Registered Nurse (RN) and LVN services, including medication administration, monitoring and recording patients' vital signs, and reporting any adverse reactions to medical personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Senior RN evaluates ongoing symptoms and provides crisis intervention as required.
- This role maintains the nursing schedule and, in conjunction with the Program Manager, assigns duties to ensure sufficient coverage during operational hours, manages nurse calls, orders laboratory tests, reviews results, and communicates abnormal findings to the medical team.
- Approves standby appointments, reviews pharmacy and lab invoices, initiates necessary corrections, and ensures accurate billing.
- Consults with the Lead Clinician and medical staff to implement new policies and procedures, assists in preparing for successful audits, and participates in quality assurance audits.
- Actively contributes to the treatment team, providing valuable insights as needed.
- Serves as the primary contact for clinicians regarding client planning and consultations.
- Monitors clients in the Patient Assistance program, ensuring all documentation is complete and current.
- Completes all required charting and documentation in electronic health records in a timely manner.
- Coordinates medication orders and refills with pharmacies.
- Responds promptly to client inquiries regarding medication issues.
- Educates clients about medications and their potential side effects.
- Dispenses and administers prescribed medications through various routes.
- Collaborates with psychiatrists and registered nurses to monitor client well-being, medication adherence, and the effectiveness of treatments.
- Responds appropriately to medical emergencies.
- Records and monitors vital signs.
- Initiates timely interventions as necessary and provides crisis intervention when required.
- Possesses knowledge of mental health and county procedures and effectively communicates these to staff, families, and community providers.
- Assists psychiatrists in implementing medication algorithms as required by funding sources.
- Documents client notes and other relevant data in electronic health records, ensuring clarity and legibility.
- Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and HIPAA standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in California.
• A valid California driver's license and current auto insurance are required.
• Experience in providing mental health and/or substance abuse services is preferred.
• Cultural competency is essential; bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record software is preferred.
