Compensation Package:

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an estimated annual salary range of $160,000 - $210,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our total compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, equity grants, and a competitive 401(k) match, ensuring a fair and equitable environment for our employees.

This is an exempt salaried role.

Key Highlights:

  • Deliver cutting-edge solutions for Helion's fusion generator prototypes as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation within a growing team, driving excellence in multidisciplinary engineering problems.
  • Collaborate closely with our Senior Manager of Engineering at our Everett, WA office to propel the development of fusion energy technology.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Owning and understanding subsystem designs, including electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems, to improve their requirements.
  2. Designing fusion hardware within 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks) and performing analysis with tools like ANSYS.
  3. Troubleshooting hardware issues as they arise on integrated fusion generators and collaborating with experienced technicians to implement hardware designs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • 8+ years of professional experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including schedule ownership.
  • Expertise in applying engineering first-principles and method-based thinking to challenging problems.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, fluids).
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks) and moderate experience with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, FEMAP).
