Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Float Med Surg to join our team in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is a 36-hour per week position with a 12-hour day shift.

Estimated Salary: $83,000 - $110,000 per yearJob Description

As a Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Float Pool, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. You will work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.

You will develop individualized nursing plans of care, coordinate patient care activities with other hospital and clinic departments, and participate in unit quality assurance activities. Your experience in acute care, utilizing the nursing process, effective problem-solving, and communication skills will be essential in this role.

  • Assessment: Gather biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning needs.
  • Planning: Develop individualized nursing plans of care that are sensitive to the developmental needs of patients.
  • Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical patients.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plans of care, and patients' responses to treatment.
Requirements and Qualifications

We require:

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting.
  • Minimum one (1) year of Progressive Care, Intermediate Care, or Step-Down or Telemetry Unit experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.

Priorities include computer keyboarding skills, experience in acute care, and effective problem-solving and communication skills.

We also value prior healthcare experience, a Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field, and minimum three (3) years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting.
