Position Summary:

We are in search of a proficient and knowledgeable Intraoperative Technologist to enhance our healthcare team. This role involves executing sophisticated intraoperative imaging tasks utilizing state-of-the-art imaging technology, ensuring optimal patient care and safety throughout surgical interventions. This full-time position provides a chance to engage in a vibrant and progressive setting, playing a vital role in intricate surgical operations and delivering crucial imaging assistance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-caliber advanced intraoperative imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, employing sterile methods.
  • Operate advanced imaging devices including portable diagnostic tools, 3D imaging systems, portable fluoroscopy, portable CT, and Hybrid IR/OR systems.
  • Effectively communicate with patients using AIDET principles to guarantee precise procedures and foster trust.
  • Prepare patients and surgical areas by positioning individuals, adjusting equipment, and configuring exposure parameters.
  • Comply with safety, infection control, and radiation standards to safeguard patients and personnel.
  • Ensure cleanliness and operational readiness of imaging devices, collaborating closely with engineers and physicists for peak performance.
  • Accurately document patient data, procedure specifics, and maintain medical imaging records in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Provide surgical guidance for advanced procedures, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), 3D imaging for surgical navigation, and various orthopedic and spinal interventions.
  • Act as a mentor, offering training and support to new staff on procedures and initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary.

Key Competencies:

  • Expertise in executing advanced intraoperative imaging tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication abilities to clarify procedures and alleviate patient concerns.
  • Capability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure environments.
  • Dedication to ongoing education and staying updated on surgical imaging practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously while upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as an Intraoperative Technologist or in a related capacity.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (ARRT-R).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
