Job Summary
This position assists the Nutritional Services Cook in preparing and serving meals to hospital patients, guests, and staff. Responsibilities include preparing patient trays, washing dishes, general cleaning, and maintaining the nutritional services department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to patients, guests, and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including washing dishes, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Support the Nutritional Services Cook in food preparation, plating, and presentation.
- Interact with patients, guests, and staff in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Nutritional Services Cook or management.
Requirements
Requirements include the ability to communicate clearly, read and comprehend written policies/procedures, and receive and relay phone or other business-related messages. The employee must also be able to sit, talk, hear, see, taste, and smell, and be occasionally able to lift items up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting with patients, guests, and staff. The employee must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality when necessary.
