Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Prescription Specialist to join our team at InterMed, P.A. This role is responsible for accurately transcribing patient prescription requests, communicating with clinical care teams, and collaborating with local pharmacies to ensure seamless prescription processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe patient prescription requests into the electronic medical record with high accuracy
  • Process prescription requests within InterMed's Prescription Refill Protocol
  • Communicate effectively with clinical care teams to ensure timely and accurate prescription processing
  • Collaborate with local pharmacies to clarify questions and concerns related to prescriptions
  • Process electronic faxed prescription documents in accordance with procedure guidelines
  • Communicate with patients to obtain additional information as needed
Requirements
  • Pharmacy experience and/or clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with EMR/eClinical Works preferred
  • Understanding of HIPAA/Patient confidentiality
  • Medical terminology and pharmacology knowledge preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent professional judgment and decision-making ability
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail
  • Compassion and empathy in patient interactions
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with hours from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. InterMed, P.A. is an equal opportunity workplace and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind.
