Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team at InterMed. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our prescription refill process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately transcribe patient prescription requests received through various channels into our electronic medical record system.
  • Process prescription requests that fall within our established refill protocol.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical care teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Collaborate with local pharmacies to clarify questions and concerns related to prescriptions.
  • Process prescription documents received via electronic fax in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Communicate with patients to obtain additional information as needed.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy experience and/or clinical experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems (EMR) and/or eClinicalWorks preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong medical terminology and pharmacology knowledge.
  • Excellent typing skills with high accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent professional judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Compassion and empathy in interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with high accuracy.
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
