Job Summary

The University of Tennessee is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Electrician to join our Facilities Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, operate, and maintain electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient campus operations.
  • Work with contractors and other crafts to provide assistance and support as needed.
  • Train craft assistants and provide guidance on electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform regular inspections of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License
  • High School Education
  • At least 6 years of equivalent field experience in electrical systems, or equivalent education
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematic drawings
  • Extensive knowledge of safe work practices and regulations
  • Ability to supervise electricians and/or craft assistants
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous work activities
