Job Description

B&B Truck and Trailer Services is seeking a skilled Road Service Technician to join our team. As a Road Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers who require roadside assistance.

This role involves diagnosing and repairing maintenance issues on trucks in various weather conditions, ensuring the safety of our customers and their vehicles. To be successful in this position, you will need prior experience in tractor trailer repair and proficiency in using various repair tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanic work on roadside breakdowns
  • Troubleshoot mechanic issues and complete job assignments within industry standard time
  • Assign parts to work orders via computer system
  • Stock service trucks with parts and tools needed to perform an effective roadside assist
  • Escalate issues found during repairs to the Shop Foreman as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop and work area, adhering to all site-specific rules, procedures, and duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics and a solid understanding of class 8 trucks and trailers
  • Knowledge of tires, brakes, lights, ABS systems, engines, electrical, fuel, drive train, and general semi-truck and trailer repairs
  • Two years of previous experience as a diesel mechanic is required
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Class A CDL is preferred

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to remain standing and/or walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift frequently
  • Must be able to lift and/or move heavy mechanical components up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside and adapt to extreme weather conditions
