About This Role

As an Optical Laboratory Specialist with the U.S. Army, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing essential eyewear to Soldiers. Your expertise in optics and ocular health will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and quality of prescription lenses, frames, and optical tools.

What You'll Do
  • Sort and forward prescriptions accurately
  • Prepare and make prescription lenses
  • Inspect lenses for accuracy
  • Assemble frames
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on optical tools and machines
Requirements
  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card
  • Between 17 to 34 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Meet Tattoo Guidelines
  • No Major Law Violations
  • No Medical Concerns
Testing & Certifications
  • Nationally Recognized Certifications Available
  • 10 weeks of Basic Training
  • 24 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
  • 98 ASVAB Score: General Maintenance (GM)
