Role Purpose:

The Customer Support Associate in Toms River plays a crucial role in facilitating customer interactions, managing meter readings, processing payments, and executing administrative functions. This position demands exceptional communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement:
    • Deliver primary customer service and reception duties.
  • Data Oversight:
    • Upload and manage meter readings, oversee collections, and maintain customer accounts.
  • Administrative Functions:
    • Conduct basic accounting tasks, maintain accurate records, and process work orders.
  • Relationship Development:
    • Build and sustain customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues.
Detailed Duties:

  • Customer Interaction:
    • Adhere to the customer service call flow process.
    • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
    • Establish new accounts.
    • Manage service start/stop requests for selected accounts.
  • Data Management:
    • Input and process meter readings in the billing system.
    • Handle payment processing.
    • Update shut-off lists and manage service interruptions due to nonpayment.
    • Maintain records for seasonal and frozen meters.
    • Process meter readings and manage exceptions.
  • Work Order Management:
    • Process daily work orders and troubleshoot discrepancies.
    • Generate and monitor service orders through billing and asset management systems.
    • Schedule appointments and dispatch work orders as necessary.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Collaborate with the New Jersey office and other departments.
    • Maintain records and communicate account-related issues.
    • Assist field staff with customer inquiries, service locations, and measurements.
    • Partner with management on special projects, particularly those focused on revenue generation.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Oversee mail collection and distribution, including shipping tasks.
    • Support the training of new employees and process meter adjustments.
    • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of accounting and billing practices.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Google Workspace).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
