Job Title: Behavior Specialist

Join New Horizons in Autism, Inc. as a Behavior Specialist and contribute to the delivery of high-quality behavioral support services to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Skill Acquisition assessments, including VB MAPP, FISH, Essential for Living, and Preference Assessments.
  • Conduct Functional Assessments of challenging behaviors, including Functional Behavior Assessments and Functional Analysis.
  • Develop supported employment programming as needed.
  • Design, implement, and train stakeholders in data collection methods, skill acquisition programming, behavior support plans, and behavior strategies.
  • Assist in conducting intake assessments for prospective clients.
  • Review and modify behavior support plans according to data.
  • Complete all reports and assessments within a timely manner and meet ongoing deadlines.
  • Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate.
  • Directly observe programs implemented by RBTs, Direct Support Staff, etc.
  • Review support staff's documentation and data collection, providing feedback as needed.
  • Complete consultation notes at each consultation and record/upload into individual's file.
  • Complete behavior support service logs for billing.

Requirements:

  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification (considering candidates currently completing certification requirements).
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
  • Working towards or currently possessing certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Completed 2 semesters of graduate-level coursework in applied behavior analysis.
  • Obtain, possess, and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2 years.
  • Pass a criminal history, central registry background check, and Department of Education Background Check.
  • Maintain a clear criminal record.
  • Exhibit superior time management and organizational skills, meeting deadlines and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Direct Support Professional.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician.

Salary Range: $45-$48k per year.
