Position Overview: The Evening Laboratory Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing specific aspects of laboratory processes or shifts. Responsibilities may encompass workflow management, quality assurance processes, drafting and reviewing protocols, training new staff, resolving complex issues for clients and colleagues, maintaining laboratory equipment, and executing other assigned duties. This role supports departmental leadership in achieving objectives across various domains. The position typically involves analytical testing of blood and other human biological samples, necessitating a significant level of theoretical and practical expertise in the relevant licensed areas. Depending on the department, various pre-analytical and post-analytical tasks may be included, and on-call duties might be required. Adherence to laboratory policies and quality control standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage staff schedules and workflow assignments as necessary.
- Recognize the importance of continuous learning and take responsibility for staying updated on all communications.
- Conduct pre-analytical tasks related to laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, specimen collection, and quality control.
- Perform all required tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately, in accordance with established protocols and performance standards.
- Engage in post-analytical activities, ensuring accurate reporting of results, including critical findings, in line with established procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
- Possession of Laboratory Supervisor Level Licensure.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
