Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to join our team at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. As an Operations Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the overall visitor experience and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning routines, including sweeping, collecting trash and recycling, and cleaning bathrooms, kitchen spaces, and office areas.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of general cleaning and washroom supplies.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and garden equipment to maintain the lawn and grounds.
  • Ensure trash collection and recycling is efficiently managed.
  • Collaborate with the horticulture team on exhibit set-up and take-down.
  • Assist with plant collection and general maintenance as needed.
  • Follow all safety regulations and report any safety concerns to your supervisor.
Requirements
  • A High School or equivalent degree and basic janitorial skills are required.
  • At least one year of janitorial, operations/facility experience is required.
  • Some practical knowledge or a willingness to learn new skills in cleaning, painting, carpentry, plumbing, horticulture, and equipment repairs is required.
  • A violation-free driver's license is required for this position.
