Category Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our Earthmoving Supply Management Team at Caterpillar Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring top-quality components for our earthmoving products.
Key Responsibilities- Manage supplier relationships, focusing on quality, costs, and logistics
- Oversee supplier onboarding/offboarding and maintain/create supplier agreements
- Handle daily procurement tasks and supplier performance management
- Collaborate on part-level products and process development through Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD)
- Support new product development by working on supplier selection, product cost targets, and ensuring supplier readiness
- 4-year college or university degree OR relevant progressive experience in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering
- Strong data analytics skills with experience in analyzing supplier performance and procurement data to drive decision-making. Experience in SAP/ERP or similar system.
- Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms with internal teams and external vendors
- Experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and maintaining supplier and development agreements
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, fostering productive partnerships and ensuring alignment with business goals
