We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Carle Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper procurement of specimens for clinical testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, transport, and process clinical specimens in accordance with established procedures and certification standards.
- Identify patients using proper procedures prior to specimen collection and follow proper procedure in collection of specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection.
- Accurately and legibly label specimens collected, placing initials, date, and time on label for identification.
- Communicate with nursing staff about any patient concerns or testing delays/questions.
- Process and prepare clinical specimens for analysis following established procedures in accordance with certification standards.
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- Basic computer knowledge: uses word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail application, and web browser.
- Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker interaction and maintain confidential information.
