The Specialty Practice Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in the EPIC Referral Workqueue, ensuring seamless referrals between practices. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities- Review and schedule incoming referrals from other practices
- Obtain pre-certification and prior authorizations for procedures, outpatient tests, and referrals
- Collaborate with front office staff and backup all areas of the front office, including answering phones, checking in and out patients, and collecting/posting payments
- Technical or vocational school plus up to 2 years of specialty training
- Two years of related experience in a clinical environment
- Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures
- Data entry experience
- Business-like appearance and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work closely with others
- Exceptional communication skills
- Initiative and drive to take projects from start to completion
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
