The role of Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs is critical in advancing the academic environment and ensuring the success and retention of a diverse student population.

As the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic course planning and program oversight.
  • Enrollment forecasting and monitoring of academic programs.
  • Facilitating ADA accommodations and addressing student academic inquiries.
  • Collaborating with faculty members and program directors to enhance academic offerings.
  • Supporting the Registrar and the Director of Continuing Education in various initiatives.

This position is essential for cultivating a dynamic academic community, promoting student achievement, and upholding high standards of educational excellence.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualities:

  • Proven experience in cross-cultural engagement with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Understanding and appreciation for the Catholic mission and context.
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate student support processes and policies.
  • Collaborative mindset in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive issues.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master's degree in Theology, Education, or a related field.
  • At least six years of progressive experience in student services and academic advising.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems; familiarity with Jenzabar SONIS is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various database and web applications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
