Casting & Machined Parts Commodity Manager Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Commodity Manager to lead and implement the strategy for casting and additive manufacturing at CIRCOR International, Inc. This individual will drive savings and improve quality for CIRCOR operations in North America, including Tampa, Monroe, Warren, and Kentucky.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a commodity strategy for castings, including supplier consolidation, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and improving quality.
- Collaborate with indirect teams, including purchasing, planning, and engineering colleagues, to drive strategic and tactical alignment.
- Manage the spend and reduce complexity of CIRCOR's North American casting suppliers.
- Develop and execute a strategy to ensure CIRCOR develops preferred machining suppliers that deliver finished or near-finished items where appropriate.
- Evaluate and establish new suppliers.
- Support research and application of new technology to enhance or replace casted parts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Material Science, or Quality Control.
- 3+ years of experience in developing a commodity strategy for castings, including supplier consolidation, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and improving quality.
- Data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Continuous improvement, root cause analysis, FMEA, and Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Supplier performance evaluation, APQP, PPAP, and SPC skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management and nondestructive testing skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, including GD&T.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Good knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes.
- Customer-focused and able to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- No limitations on ability and authorization to visit DoD sites and suppliers.
