Position Summary: The Reel Stand Operator is responsible for managing the reelstands and ensuring a continuous supply of paper for the printing press.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates closely with the Lead Operator to achieve production targets.
  • Examines Job Information Sheets to confirm that production aligns with specified requirements.
  • Coordinates with warehouse personnel to procure paper stock in appropriate sizes, weights, brightness, and quantities.
  • Prepares roll splices to maintain uninterrupted press operation.
  • Utilizes time effectively through strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Supports the team with setup tasks and addresses issues in the reelstand area.
  • Keeps equipment clean and alerts the Supervisor regarding maintenance needs.
  • Trains new staff members and engages in process enhancement initiatives.
  • Follows all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Completes additional tasks and special projects as required.
  • Meets attendance expectations for the shift.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Capable of executing Reel Stand and Material Handling tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, quality-focused, proficient in time management, organized, strong verbal communicator, technically skilled, proactive, adept at problem-solving, and capable of making sound judgments.
