Ophthalmic Technician

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Naples, Florida. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our eye care services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document various clinical tests and procedures, including visual fields, ocular motility, and intraocular pressure.
- Provide support to providers, including documentation in patient charts and assisting with patient care.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinical operations.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest eye care techniques and technologies.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to University of Miami policies and regulations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience in ophthalmic care preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and colleagues.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and meeting productivity goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel to satellite eye centers as needed.
