Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician 2 to join our team at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Naples, Florida. As a key member of our clinical support staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document various clinical tests and procedures, including visual fields, ocular motility, and intraocular pressure measurements.
  • Provide support to providers by documenting patient information and assisting with patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with department standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in ophthalmology or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
