Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pizza Cook to become a vital part of our Back of House (BOH) team.


As a Pizza Cook, your primary responsibility will be to prepare food items following established recipes and standards. You will ensure that culinary preparations align with the specified recipes, utilizing the appropriate techniques, types, quality, and quantities of ingredients, as well as the necessary equipment and utensils. Adherence to quality standards, company procedures, current health regulations, and international food hygiene management systems is essential to meet service objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, portion, and cook food items according to quality specifications.
  • Follow recipes as outlined in the established manual.
  • Evaluate ingredients for freshness and quality, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Ensure that selected ingredients meet the brand's quality standards.
  • Oversee minor and major team functions to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Participate in restaurant briefings.
  • Manage inventory for production lines.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Operate kitchen equipment per manufacturer instructions.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues within the kitchen.

Specific Duties

  • Handle guest orders in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu and all food products.
  • Stock and manage designated food station(s).
  • Visually inspect all food items before they leave the kitchen.
  • Adhere to correct food handling and storage procedures as per regulations.
  • Implement proper rotation of raw materials.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness in coolers.
  • Ensure refrigerator and freezer areas are tidy.
  • Complete closing tasks according to established checklists.
  • Prepare lists of raw materials for the next day's production.
  • Plan and execute daily production tasks.
  • Request supplies based on service requirements, following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the chef on assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that each dish meets the brand's quality standards in flavor, portion, assembly, and presentation.
  • Fulfill line work requirements while adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Store consumables and cooked foods properly.
  • Ensure all food is correctly stored before closing the restaurant.
  • Utilize equipment and resources efficiently to minimize energy and water costs.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Learn and understand menus, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure all food is stored in appropriate containers at correct temperatures.
  • Prepare sufficient food in advance to meet expected business volume while maintaining quality.
  • Prepare food for other kitchen departments as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration, in compliance with sanitary regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Agreement to undergo a background check.
  • Availability during peak hours of restaurant operation, including lunch and dinner shifts.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Expectation to work over 35 hours per week, with hours subject to change based on operational needs.

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Safety Certification is required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen operations, food handling, and line work; knowledge of Italian cuisine is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a pizza station, is desirable (high volume experience with Neapolitan pizza is a plus).
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and methods.

Skills

  • Ability to execute all recipe procedures accurately.
  • Capability to prepare a variety of foods using different methods.
  • Willingness to adhere to company safety and sanitation policies.
  • Able to complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to perform all functions as indicated above.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motions.
  • Work with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment.
