POSITION SUMMARY:

As a pivotal member of our culinary team, you will be recognized as a guiding force within the kitchen. Your colleagues will depend on your leadership to foster a productive environment and set exemplary standards. Your primary responsibilities will include the preparation of essential stocks and sauces, as well as the meticulous handling of ingredients, which encompasses portioning, chopping, and proper storage.

Your role will also involve:

  • Washing and peeling fresh produce.
  • Measuring and mixing ingredients accurately.
  • Cooking and presenting dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality benchmarks.
  • Operating various kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and fryers.
  • Ensuring food quality and safety during the cooking process.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.

As a Lead Culinary Specialist, you will play an integral role in enhancing the dining experience for our members. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional food quality and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen. Your commitment to excellence will be crucial in upholding our high standards. Training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to perform your duties effectively.

In addition to your culinary responsibilities, you will assist in supervising the workflow of other kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will also collaborate with the Sous Chefs and Demi Chefs to facilitate smooth operations during service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Foster a collaborative team environment, assisting colleagues as needed.
  2. Demonstrate a sense of urgency and efficiency in all tasks.
  3. Exhibit strong technical culinary skills and knowledge of menu items.
  4. Ensure proper communication regarding outstanding orders and production needs.
  5. Participate in mandatory kitchen meetings and training sessions.
  6. Adhere to sanitation and safety protocols, maintaining a clean workstation.
  7. Monitor inventory and notify management of any shortages.

EDUCATIONAL / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age of 18 years.

• Previous culinary experience is preferred.

• References available upon request.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Schedule may vary based on operational needs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork.

DRESS CODE:

  1. Professional chef attire including a clean, pressed chef coat.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
