Job Title: Dental Assistant Instructor

Rogue Community College is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant Instructor to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching dental assisting courses and providing direct supervision and assessment of student progress.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students in dental assisting courses, including didactic, laboratory, and clinical components.
  • Provide direct supervision and assessment of student progress, ensuring that students receive safe and appropriate care.
  • Monitor patient care and ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
  • Assist with orientation, calibration, and training of part-time clinical instructors.
  • Assess student, patient, and instructor compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information related to students, patients, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning activities.
  • Develop and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi and supplementary materials.
  • Participate in curriculum planning and development, including regular and systemic curriculum and program assessment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree earned within three years of initial hire.
  • Current CPR/First Aid card and HIPAA and OSHA standards training required.
  • Background in and current knowledge of dental assisting and educational theory and methodology.
  • Holds a current certification for Dental Assisting or Credentials for expanded dental assisting functions.
  • Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) credential: Certified Dental Assistant.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • RDH certification.
  • Recent experience in the application of four-handed dentistry principles.
  • Experience working with patients who have limited access to dental care.
  • Experience with computer-based dental practice management systems.
