We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Lifeguard & Swim Lesson Instructor to join our team at the City of Oregon City, OR. As a Lifeguard & Swim Lesson Instructor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional aquatic guarding services and teaching swim lessons to children of all ages.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide life-guarding services and respond to emergency situations
  • Teach swim lessons to preschool and school-age children, levels
  • Prepare and submit accident/incident reports
  • Train as an aide in lessons and assist at the front desk as needed
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in and around the Swim Center
  • Participate in in-service training, orientations, and other staff meetings as requested
Requirements:
  • Must be comfortable in the water and proficient in basic swim skills
  • Must possess lifeguard certifications at time of appointment or be able to obtain within one month of employment
  • Must be 15 years of age or older
Working Conditions:

Mostly working indoors in a pool environment, with occasional exposure to dust, noise, pool chemicals, and other irritants. Physical exertion required, including lifting, climbing, bending, squatting, reaching, and safely walking on wet deck surfaces in a hot humid environment.
