Medical Receptionist with Strong Customer Service Skills

About the Role:
The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and physicians in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist patients with completing forms and documentation, including medical insurance information
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring up-to-date billing information
- Inform patients of medical office procedures and policies
- Retrieve and update patient records as necessary
- Coordinate patient appointments and move them through the schedule as scheduled
- Respond to incoming calls and assist with inquiries
- Schedule patient appointments and collect payments
- Review physician schedules to minimize reschedules
- Obtain external medical reports and maintain patient records as required by medical professionals
- Comply with requests for information and respond promptly
- Register patients with copay assistance foundations
- Ensure the reception area remains clean and organized
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective listening and clear verbal and written communication
- Reliable transportation to travel to practice locations
- Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data
- Ability to learn ophthalmology and retina terminology
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical practice
- Bilingual – Spanish
Working Conditions:
- Frequent use of computer terminal to read and write
- Frequent bending, reaching, sitting, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting up to 10lbs
Additional Details:
- Monday – Friday schedule, with possible weekend clinic assignments
- Hourly pay (FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime)
