The Senior Network Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, promoting, and supporting advanced network technologies. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, conducting root cause analyses, and managing effective communication channels with various teams within a shared services organizational framework.

This position requires a proactive individual who can leverage their experience and judgment to plan and achieve strategic goals. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical data networks, ensuring an optimal end-user experience.


Responsibilities:
Leverages a senior role to resolve network infrastructure issues and to design solutions. Troubleshoots technical aspects of the enterprise voice and data network infrastructure. Develops and applies best practices and procedures for solution delivery and support in addition to producing and maintaining detailed infrastructure documentation. Maintains and updates all voice and data hardware and software platforms through lifecycle projects, ensuring compliance with guidelines. Possesses working knowledge of Cisco data network hardware environments and current voice infrastructure. Takes initiative during alerts or failures, troubleshooting and isolating issues with team collaboration. Collaborates with team members, support, and development groups, transferring knowledge effectively. Acts as technical lead on assigned projects of a moderate to large scope, while delivering quality solutions, on time, within budget, while factoring future growth when proposing solutions. Working with an assigned member of the Project Management Office, authors a project plan, develops a schedule, and creates documentation and messaging. Makes sound decisions based on the information available. Remains objective to the ideas or recommendations of peers and open to taking a different approach. Takes ownership and assumes responsibility for decisions made in relation to work assignments. Works closely with other support, development, QA, and business teams to provide complete solutions that meet the needs of all parties. Updates management with project information in a timely manner. Designs and implements network infrastructure solutions, primarily focused on Cisco and Avaya technologies, adhering to company policies. Explores new products, technologies, and methods to enhance the infrastructure. Maintains documentation supporting work processes and applies security policies to infrastructure design. Determines baseline performance of existing systems, monitoring, and resolving performance issues. Identifies vulnerabilities within the infrastructure, offering recommendations for improvement. Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, capable of creating documents and simple spreadsheets. Skilled in architecting enterprise solutions for existing or new networks as required. Analyzing networking requirements for the organization, including capacity planning, troubleshooting, and performance management. Expertise in Azure Virtual Network (VNet), ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Load Balancer. Proficient in integrating on-premises networks with Azure services, ensuring secure and optimized connections. In-depth knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. Mastery in managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls for both on-premises networks and Azure deployments, ensuring robust security measures. Skilled in Wi-Fi standards, security protocols, and site surveys for traditional office setups and Azure-based wireless deployments. Familiarity with Cisco data center architecture to support the deployment of Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus Dashboard, SDN, Cisco Catalyst Center, ensuring efficient resource utilization and scalability across varied environments. Proficient in integrating Azure communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, Azure Communication Services, and VoIP solutions for seamless cloud-based collaboration. Working knowledge of Avaya voice architecture, including telephony services, voicemail, and contact center environments. Capable of understanding and deploying new or existing technologies to meet business initiatives effectively. Ability to comprehend and deploy new or existing technologies to meet business initiatives. Proficient to work within fast-paced organizational environments, adept at prioritizing workloads to meet delivery deadlines. Provides comprehensive updates to management while ensuring timely task completion. Demonstrates strong network documentation skills, capable of creating detailed written standards for use by network peers, fostering clarity and consistency within the team. Skilled in authoring and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring a seamless and successful project lifecycle. Capable of shifting tasks based on changing priorities. Skilled in drawing conclusions from data, employing a systematic and rational approach. Proficient at conceiving ideas mentally, formulating imaginative solutions to achieve desired outcomes. Able to express thoughts clearly and professionally in both written and oral communication. Possesses the ability to make prompt determinations and substantiate decisions when challenged. Focuses on each item meticulously, demonstrating keen attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading. Quickly perceives others' feelings and motives from subtle signals. Maintains an organized state of mind, documenting activities, anticipating problems, planning schedules, and monitoring performance in alignment with priorities and deadlines.
