Senior Electronic Systems Technician

Position Overview
The role involves the maintenance, repair, inspection, and oversight of avionics systems equipment. This includes but is not limited to, line replaceable units (LRU) for various aircraft, navigation and communication systems, as well as associated support equipment (SE). The technician will utilize their technical expertise to identify equipment malfunctions and restore operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of avionics systems and support equipment to identify defects in electronic, electro-optical, and mechanical components.
- Perform repairs, overhauls, and modifications on avionics systems and related aircraft systems.
- Isolate malfunctioning equipment through functional checks and various testing methods.
- Utilize automatic diagnostic software to assist in troubleshooting.
- Install avionics assemblies and sub-assemblies, ensuring proper connections and alignment of flightline replaceable components.
- Reprogram avionics systems as necessary and maintain detailed inspection records.
- Execute avionics phase inspections on aircraft to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Qualifications
Knowledge: A solid understanding of aircraft avionics systems is essential. Familiarity with electronics, analog/digital components, microprocessors, and technical documentation is required. Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and Air Force supply procedures is also necessary.
Education: A high school diploma with coursework in physics, chemistry, and mathematics is preferred. Completion of an advanced avionics maintenance course is mandatory.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics equipment is required. Qualification as an Avionics Technician is mandatory.
Certifications: Candidates must have held an Air Force Avionics AIS AFSC. Experience with specific aircraft systems and handling classified materials is preferred. A SECRET CLEARANCE is required for this position.
