The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee food production and provide leadership to the culinary staff within a designated dining unit. This position ensures adherence to the highest culinary standards across all food service areas.
- Maintain exemplary culinary standards in all food preparation and presentation areas.
- Ensure the quality of food is consistent with established recipes and presented attractively.
- Plan and execute daily food production schedules, assigning tasks to staff as necessary.
- Act as the lead in the absence of the Executive Sous Chef.
- Review production sheets for accuracy and manage the flow of food service.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure adequate food supply while minimizing waste.
- Assist with food deliveries and supply management as needed.
- Support catering and special event food production as required.
Additional Responsibilities:

- Understand organizational goals and how individual contributions impact overall success.
- Comply with all relevant policies and operational protocols.
- Be adaptable to work in various dining locations as operational needs dictate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental objectives.
A high school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of experience in food preparation or service in a commercial kitchen, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications:- Knowledge of culinary equipment, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced culinary environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Commitment to outstanding customer service, even in challenging situations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting and working in varying temperature conditions.
- Compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
- Proficiency in using email and other communication tools.
- Certification as a Sous Chef or higher.
- Completion of an accredited culinary program.
- Experience in high-volume food service settings.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with food production management software.
- Experience in various cooking styles and service formats.
- ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on job responsibilities.
