Job Title: Corporate Vice President

At New York Life Insurance Co, we're seeking a highly skilled Corporate Vice President to lead our Technology Delivery team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our technology strategy, ensuring seamless delivery of IT solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a delivery roadmap that aligns with business goals, identifying opportunities for improved sequencing and successful execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning leads, RTEs, Tech Leads, and QA Leads, to ensure transparency of initiatives and effective delivery.
  • Lead teams in delivering on commitments, ensuring transparency of work, challenges, blockers, and progress.
  • Guide teams in identifying and resolving complex cross-dependencies, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Work with various levels of the organization to understand business goals, strategies, capabilities, and processes, ensuring cross-team alignment.
  • Facilitate business and technology alignment through collaborative, supportive, and consultative approaches.
  • Create and facilitate cross-team communications to enhance transparency and issue identification and resolution.
  • Identify organizational requirements for resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support execution and delivery.
  • Partner with a Value Stream Architect to present gap analysis and/or IT investment roadmaps, reflecting the status of the existing IT landscape and its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities.
  • Responsible for coaching and career development of team members, building a strong employee base with deep technical skills and strong business acumen.
Requirements:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field of study.
  • Certifications in delivery methodologies, such as Scaled Agile, are a plus.
  • Five or more years of experience in enterprise-level delivery of IT solutions, including stakeholder management.
  • Five or more years of experience in managing multiple work streams of IT technical delivery through close coordination/cooperation with Business Leads/Product Managers.
  • Five or more years of experience in SAFe Agile framework and processes, including estimation, scheduling, financial planning, and budgeting.
  • Strong experience managing staffing, identifying resource gaps, and contention issues, including internal employees and vendor resources/consultants.
  • Proven experience in talent development, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and active feedback.
  • Proven experience in relationship building.
Additional Skills/Knowledge:
  • Able to resolve issues independently, analyzing solutions using judgment, knowledge, and prior experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the capability to work closely with other Value Streams, Business Areas, Corporate Functions, Centers for Enablement, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor communication and present at senior levels, while also being able to dive into details and articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effectively and proactively manages expectations.
  • Proven ability to lead a team or teams responsible for driving the advancement of the overall Value Stream roadmap through Agile Ways of Working.
  • Proven success in influencing and working effectively across a broad and complex organization to influence process adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lean into the culture and foster team collaboration, decision-making, and execution.
  • Knowledge of modern technology ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, mobile app development, content management system, SSO, cyber security, and app scan tools.
  • Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle, IT services, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Understanding of different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong consulting skills, including targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
Salary Range:

$160,000-$240,000
