Job Summary:

We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to join our Department of Occupational Therapy. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in occupational therapy, developing course objectives and teaching/learning experiences, and promoting a positive image of occupational therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain credentials for the practice of occupational therapy to incorporate clinical knowledge and skills into teaching
  • Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in area(s) of expertise and interest, as assigned
  • Develop course objectives and teaching/learning experiences for students which reflect the program's philosophy of education
  • Continues development of proficiency in teaching through investigation, formal education, continuing education, and self-investigation
  • May develop clinical sites in underserved communities, in order to provide active learning opportunities for students
  • Promotes a positive image of occupational therapy and educates others about the profession both internally and externally

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of baccalaureate degree to teach in the OTA Program and minimum of master's degree to teach in the MOT program
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant
  • The capacity to create a positive environment and to work collaboratively with administrators, other faculty, staff, and students to achieve the goals and objectives of the department, college, and university

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience (in an academic setting or as a continuing education provider) is desirable
