Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Advocate to join our team at Project Woman of Ohio. As a key member of our shelter program, you will provide essential support and advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed direct services to survivors, including support, advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals.
  • Assist with daily living needs of shelter residents, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Conduct shelter orientations, complete intakes, and facilitate cooperative living among residents.
  • Document services provided and maintain accurate records in our survivor records database.
  • Participate in supervision and team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a two-year degree in a human services-related field or relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a residential facility setting, preferably with trauma survivors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and respect for survivors.
