About the Position:

The Irvine Ranch Conservancy is seeking two full-time Program Technicians to join our Restoration and Enhancement team. As a Program Technician, you will play a critical role in coordinating and leading work crews in the implementation of habitat restoration projects. This will involve seeding and planting native vegetation, weed maintenance, and field monitoring. You will also be responsible for some office work, including data entry, analysis, and reporting on daily work activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and lead work crews in the implementation of habitat restoration projects
  • Seeding and planting native vegetation, weed maintenance, and field monitoring
  • Data entry, analysis, and reporting on daily work activities
  • Work independently under general direction and as part of a team in an outdoor setting at multiple locations
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a related field
  • Experience in landscape maintenance, habitat restoration, nursery work, or similar
  • Experience safely using and maintaining hand tools such as hoes, trowels, shovels, and weed whips
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in an outdoor setting at multiple locations
  • Helpful, but not required: Spanish proficiency
  • Helpful, but not required: Familiarity with the local ecology
