Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Mission Systems organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced mechanical systems for our customers. Your expertise in hardware design, analysis, and integration will be critical in delivering high-quality products that meet our customers' needs.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems, including electronic assemblies, circuit card assemblies, and reflector-type antennas.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS and other analytical tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with software and electrical components.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on defense industry applications.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- Experience with design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies and circuit card assemblies.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ASME Y14.5.
- Experience with structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS and other analytical tools.
- Prior defense industry experience, designing and solving problems for high-reliability systems operating in harsh environments.
