(ARA) is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Systems Engineer to assist the Navy in the innovation and implementation of state-of-the-art high-performance computing (HPC) software and network frameworks. This position will support the Office of Naval Research and the Naval Research Laboratory, utilizing both on-site and remote work options when permitted.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and maintaining the daily operations of a diverse Linux/Unix research environment, which includes large memory HPC systems, HPC clusters, high-speed networking, and storage solutions.
  • Designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining HPC computing resources and systems.
  • Delivering essential infrastructure support.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Several years of recent and relevant experience in system and network administration support.
  • Proficiency in enterprise Linux/Unix administration.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure servers, their configurations, and protocols.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in statistics, computer science, data management, database structures, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in Navy program research and development.
  • Proficiency in RHEL, CentOS, and Solaris operating systems.
  • Experience in kernel performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIG compliance.
  • Programming skills in C.
