Position Summary

The Electrical Helper will collaborate with electricians and other helpers to assist in the installation, wiring, and testing of electrical components within chilled water systems. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, conducting inspections, and resolving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect tools and materials as directed.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using hand tools.
  • Drill holes for wiring and maneuver wiring through openings.
  • Identify short circuits in wiring using knowledge of electrical systems and testing equipment.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing items such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring supplies and parts are organized.
  • Install electrical components and associated raceway systems according to specifications.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fabrication facility. Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Occasionally, employees may work in various extreme conditions at construction sites, where noise levels can be high.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which include regular communication, standing, walking, using hands for tasks, and reaching. Lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with first shift hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary based on job demands.

Travel Requirements

Local travel during business hours may be required, but extensive travel is generally not necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in industrial electrical installation.
  • Knowledge of transformers, LVMCC, HVMCC, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment.

Additional Requirements

Dependable transportation, a valid driver's license, a clean background check, and consent for random drug screening are mandatory.

Must be authorized to work in the USA.
