Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting inspections of the forklift fleet to ensure safety and functionality.
- Identifying and addressing any necessary repairs on forklift trucks.
- Removing unsafe equipment from operational areas and informing supervisors.
- Performing repairs and maintenance on various forklift types, including electric, gas, and propane models.
- Testing repaired forklifts to confirm proper operation.
- Scheduling and executing routine maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring electric forklift batteries are charged and replacing empty propane tanks as needed.
- Maintaining a detailed repair log for the forklift fleet.
- Carrying out additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for repairs.
- The ability to read and interpret repair manuals.
- Strong mechanical repair skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Basic computer skills and fundamental math abilities.
- Completion of a forklift mechanics training course is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical capability to access all parts of the forklift for maintenance.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
