Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our Infant/Toddler Program team at the Archdiocese of San Antonio. As an Infant/Toddler Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of each child's development and create individualized plans to support their growth and learning.
  • Lesson Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Texas Minimum Standards and the Texas Rising Star Program, ensuring a well-rounded and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment, using effective guidance techniques to promote social-emotional learning and conflict resolution.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and families, sharing information about their child's daily experiences and progress.
  • Staff Supervision and Support: Provide guidance, leadership, and technical assistance to assigned assistant teachers, promoting a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all children in the program, adhering to policies and procedures related to health plans, allergies, and medication administration.
  • Program Compliance: Maintain compliance with the Texas Minimum Standards and the Texas Rising Star Program, ensuring that our program meets the highest standards of quality and excellence.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, staying current with best practices in early childhood education and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Early Childhood Education certification or degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience in an early childhood program serving infants and toddlers in a developmentally appropriate environment.
  • Certifications: Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification, SIDS, Shaken Baby, and Brain Development Training, and a valid Texas Child Care Certification.
  • Background Check: Must undergo a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
