Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and evaluate financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and perform account reconciliations.
  • File tax documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage licensing documentation and maintain compliance in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Assist in generating financial reports for management and external auditors.
  • Oversee payroll processing for all departments.
  • Manage accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Process customer payments and manage vendor accounts.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, recommending and implementing best practices.
  • Supervise three staff members who report to this position.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in small business accounting and bookkeeping is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree and CPA designation are strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a senior accounting role is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience with Washington, Oregon, and Idaho jurisdictions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage a high-volume, multi-tasking environment.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position (40 hours per week). Overtime opportunities are available and encouraged.
