About the Job

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a healthcare professional, you will be working with addiction treatment clients in Norfolk, CT.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field and current APRN licensure in the state of Connecticut. You will work 40 hours per week, with possible weekend schedules.

Job Description

As an Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial history and physical examinations, ordering and evaluating lab tests, prescribing medications, and making referrals as needed.
  • Assessing and monitoring clients' physical condition and response to medications throughout detoxification and residential phases.

You will also be responsible for ensuring clients are at the appropriate level of care for medically-monitored detox, ordering diagnostic tests as needed, and referring clients to hospitals or specialists when necessary.

A key aspect of this role is to monitor withdrawal symptoms, manage health needs, review lab results, and follow up on abnormal values. You will participate in treatment planning, identify care needs during detox and post-discharge, and complete paperwork, maintain health records, and provide health education to clients and staff.

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $115,000-$135,000 based on Level II experience (2+ years) and a possibility of additional compensation for weekend shifts.
