Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus and portion control guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes and pots.
  • Prepare beverages, including brewing coffee and managing beverage stations.
  • Deliver food to various locations as needed, ensuring timely service.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food handling.
  • Follow security protocols and guidelines specific to the work environment.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies appropriately.
  • Adhere to designated break schedules.
  • Assist in the collection and cleaning of trays and participate in dishwashing duties as assigned.
  • Organize and store kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Engage in safety initiatives and participate in safety committees.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and in-service programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Support the mission and objectives set forth by Whitsons Culinary Group.
  • Meet all requirements for food handling certification.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of all necessary training as mandated by Whitsons and other regulatory bodies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English to effectively understand job tasks.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a professional food service environment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined below are essential for the successful execution of this role:

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Utilize hands and fingers to handle objects and tools, with frequent reaching.
  • Stand for the majority of the workday, with frequent movement throughout the kitchen.
  • Lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally requiring lateral movement.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Work primarily takes place in kitchen and serving areas.
  • Standing for extended periods is a requirement.
  • Frequent movement in and out of storage areas and freezers is necessary.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration processes.
  • Noise levels in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
