Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this position is $129,000 - $201,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our preconstruction group, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for complex projects, including mission-critical facilities, government jobs, and large MEP packages. Your expertise in mechanical systems estimating will help us deliver accurate and competitive bids to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical estimating responsibility for complex projects, including Mission Critical, Market Segment, and Government jobs with MEP package contract value of $25M+
  • Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope not already indicated
  • Establish working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing
  • Develop working relationships with local Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection trade partners to maintain active lists of qualified bidders
  • Perform constructability analysis of project documents and communicate design and constructability issues to the project team and stakeholders
  • Provide first costs analysis and participate in life cycle analysis with the Design team
  • Participate in decision-making processes with Operations and Procurement to determine MEP trade partners to utilize in project pursuits
  • Contribute subject matter expertise of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for project pursuits
  • Participate in development and implementation of MEP training

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of related Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems estimating experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a deadline-driven environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations with confidence
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications
