Job Summary

As a Computed Tomography Technologist at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients. Your expertise in operating CT scanners and interpreting images will help diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, positioning them correctly, and selecting the appropriate technical parameters.
  • Administer contrast media and medications as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor patients during the procedure and report any abnormalities or concerns to the radiologist.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the radiologist or department manager.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or completion of a Radiology certification program or registered in Radiology.
  • No experience required, but prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
